Again, with all your support, participation and contribution, we have successfully organised our 1st Ball Breaker Run during our 12th anniversary celebration.

We had closed to 500 registered participants for our Ball Breaker Run and Fun Run. For the first time, we have so many walk-in participants and we had run out of T-shirt for a number of participants. Thanks for their continuous support.

For Ball Breaker run, there were 196 hashers registered. There were 123 Ball Breaker Finishers. 1st Ball Breaker Finisher completed in 4hr 47min. And the last FINISHER returned safely at 8.02pm at the same time Opening Ceremony had just started. There was no major injury but some cut, bruise and scratch observed from the participants. With the "HO LAN XI" blue finishing T wearing on, all pains turn into achievement, success and PROUD!

For Fun Run, there were about 250 runners participated. They had conquered closed to 8km journey and they were safely returned at 6.00pm. Swept by the pair of our Diamond Sweepers, TongZhan and GouPaoChoon, no worry at all.

Once again, thanks for your participation. We hope that you have fun and enjoyed the trails and programs provided. Even if there is any problem, with hash spirit, no running problem, no drinking problem and no causing problem. ON ON

Offroad Charity Ride/ Hash - Funding Event to Persatuan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat (PKKI)

A charity event organised by Bandar Mahkota Cheras's BIKE RIDING group. (All volunteers with  no political/ religious/ business purpose). They have invited  SH4 to join them to organize the HASH RUN for this charity event. SH4 will design and take part on the 5-8 KM running track. They will do the 20KM MTB riding around Bandar Sg. Long.

Date:      18 September 2011
Time:     8 am (Registration)
              9 am (Hash run!)  & 8 am (MTB Cyclists)
Run Site:  BIKE CORNER CYCLE (Follow PKKI signboard)
                42-G, Jalan Temenggung 19/9,
                Bandar Mahkota Cheras.

Registration for Hash Run: FREE
                 (Runners just sign in and sign out before and after the run)

Charity Method: Drop your "KINDNESS in CASH" into a Donation box.
                 (We will all witness the total donation in the end of the event.

Simple Hashing Rules:
* Sign IN and sign OUT.
* Take nothing but lot's of photography. Leave nothing but your foot prints.
* Have your breakfast early.
* Bring your own clothing for change.
* Bring sufficient water  (at least ONE 600 ml mineral water)
* Follow SWEEPERS guidance & instruction. Check with them if facing issue.
* If not feeling well, please don't run or don't complete the run. Inform SWEEPERS!
* When on the road, be careful of the road traffic. SAFETY FIRST!
* RUN with happy, fun, relax, friendship & healthy condition.

Run #462 04/09/11 Venice Hill

After a long leave, I seems slept late, reading, watching TV for the whole week without any exercise. It is time for me to do some. Joining SH4 run is always the best choice on Sunday. ON! ON!

A group of hashers joint Temerloh H4 celebration yesterday. Many of them still able to rush back to support our run. Big hands to them! ON ON!

Quite a big group of first time guests (FTG) joint today. They are mainly GuoWong and 619 friends. As usual, we had a short introduction from them and we also briefed them some simple hash rules. It will be a happy run!

Run started sharp at 5pm. The journey was smooth and easy at the beginning. Most FTG had easily conquered the 1st hill. Many members joint sweepers to take care of them. SAFETY is #1 in SH4.

We saw Happy H5 hash papers at halfway in the jungle. Our track was crossing their track. Again, no confusion or problem occurred as of HIGH HASHING spirit. Unfortunately, I didn't meet their runners. However, I was able to hear them somewhere in the jungle.

After a few "warm-up" climbs, we reached the real run after "Ah Pa Hill". I gave some warnings to new runners. Those who were struggling was advised to return/ reverse back at this point. Some runners with high fighting spirit, we allowed them to complete the journey since we had a big group of sweepers today.

Midway of this challenging climb, a few runners started showing "difficulty". A pink lady was struggling to "thrown-out". I asked her to use her finger to help to vomit, but she was not dare as her finger was "dirty". Ha! Ha! FLZ will tell me the same. Luckily, she managed to complete the journey under such difficult condition.

Uncle 6 was diarrhea for a few days after their Jelutong trip. He was struggling during the run.  I heard someone asking Uncle 6 to rest just above me. I approached to check his condition. I saw him slanting on a tree at a slope. It was a bit dangerous as his back was not facing the hill. I moved quicker trying to support him. But, just in a flash, I saw him collapsed and sliding down. Luckily, a few branches had managed to stop his sliding. I managed to grab him and gave him the first aid immediately.

His condition didn't look good. He was unconscious after that fall. I was a bit panic as he seems very weak. He was struggled to open his eyes and his mouth was closed very tight. He may lost his breathe if he lost his conscious longer. I saw Chicken Little was very worry, but she was very calm. 

Uncle 6 had a strong fighting spirit. He tried very hard to open his eyes to keep himself awake. It helped me a lot to in the rescue. A few sweepers did helped to massage him and fanned for fresh air. All these actions helped in this rescue. When Uncle 6 thrown out his first air, I felt relieved. It took him quite a long time to wake-up. Then, someone shouted, "Another runner is fainted."

OMG! I quickly rush for another rescue and HaiLongWong stayed to take care of Uncle 6. It was DINO who was fainted while rest on a tree. He was lucky as a new runner managed to hold him from collapsing. I managed to support him to remain standing and supported by a tree. It was easier to rescue under this condition and also he was still conscious. After a few massages, he managed to thrown out the air. (I recalled LauTan told me, this air is normally very smelly. I managed to avoid facing him.) A few sweepers joint and provided some helps too. We were lucky this time as many of us were around to help them.

After the incident, I checked with them for lesson learnt. A hard press at area under the nose and above the lips (人中) is a KEY to wake them up. Both Uncle 6 and Dino shared the same. 

DINO also shared that he was fainted after seeing uncle 6 collapsed. Without any symptom, he felt a shock than collapsed. I recalled similar experience at Sg. Long. While I was rescuing a young lady, her sister also collapsed after seeing her sister fainted. (Just a sharing: If you are not feeling well, try to avoid looking at a rescue.)

We took the time for both them to have rest, water and sweet. Not long, 619 approached and shared that the front runners just at somewhere near us. We decided to make a short-cut as both runners were weak. It was a right decision and we managed to reach the run site before dark. (Those who completed the run shared that it had another 3 hills to climb.)

At about 7.30pm, all returned safely. Congratulation to a few new runners who were managed to complete the run. ON ON!

I have a mix feeling on the successful rescue of our 2 friends. In the deep of my heart, we were very lucky so far. I am very worry that what if I failed ONCE? I was not dare to think any deeper.......

I do really hope that all runners to stop running or reverse if he/ she is not feeling well. Try next time as we run every Sunday. Please STOP AND REST if you need REST. Run with a group if you are not feeling well. Please run SAFELY! ON! ON!

Whatever is it, with these lesson learnt, let's continue our HASHING. See you on next run. ON! ON!
