Run #443 - 24/04/11 - Hulu Langat ArgoTek

As of the heavy rain in Klang Valley, many hashers were arriving late and also suspecting many had chicken-out. Not many hashers joint as about 50 runners participated. A group who didn't join us for long time came late as they couldn't find the runsite. We (sweepers) had waited for about 20 min. By the time we entered the jungle, the pack had already at far deep inside the jungle. Quite challenging for us to chase the pack.
Although it was rain and wet, our GM never let go the opportunity to set challenging trail for us. As usual, we had to climb-up till reach peak and climb down till base of valley. On a few trails, he even purposedly skip the man made road and cut into the valley and climb up to opposite side. Of course, some smart hashers managed to spot the short cut via main road. So they were able to skip some of these challenging valley.

As usual, GM tried to new trail. The trail was quite slipperly and difficult to climb. I made some cuts on both hands and made a bruise on right leg as I knocked a branch which hide behind a tree.  When the day turned dark, the journey even more difficult to moving forward. At many spot, we had to slide down as no proper trail to climb down. We were all in mud. We laughed at ourselves as we had the most natrual "MASKING" on our face, skin and body. No wonder we look young with fresh skin at this age.

Should have warn our set run team that they had to consider the SAFETY for the last runners. It is very dangerous to run in the dark when the trail is wet and slippery. I won't mind set some challenging trail but for dry day. The trail is full of hazard after rain. Set the difficult trail at the begining of run as the day still bright. For the end of the trail, they should try to use the man made road as much as possible for SAFETY.

Again, sweepers reached runsite about 8pm. This is the 3rd consequitive runs that sweepers had to use headlights. No wonder, very few hanshers want to be SWEEPERS recently. Even some had volunteers, they only wanted to be the front sweepers. Before dark, they had already reached run site. Just wonder are they "SWEEPER". The last sweepers still the same few familliar faces. Thanks to Ko Pau Chon@谷爆春 & Tong Zan@唐僧.

When reaching the runsite, Hai Long Wong and the group had prepared some delicious "Sour Veg Soup" + chickens + rice. WIth the food in front, I couldn't enjoy much. Just somehow the mind was VERY BLUR. Anyway, with some food in stomach had helped the hunger that we had in the jungle.

With such a warm friendship, another good hours spent with SH4. ON! ON!

Run #442 Bukit Hatamas (Circle organised by Group 3)

This run was organised by Group 3 - GM's group. The group consists of 3 GM from SH4, CH4 & KH3. Plenty of beers and foods served. 2 trails were set to give some challenges to Hashers. The short one was just like our normal run. Sweeper took 2.5 hours to return to run site. The long run was SUPER long. It took FLZ 3 hours to complete the run. It was so longt that I had forgotten to record their timing.

Hence, our circle started late too. JM, Fit Lo on-boxed to ON DOWN our hares for the wonderful dinner and run served.

I took the opportunity to give a refresher to hashers on "What is CHECKING?" Lengthy of time spent to annouce our 9th Anniversary @ Hawaiian Nite. All committee members were introduced and their R&R were also briefed. The response from hashers was great and hot!

InterhashSec, Mountain Goat shared all the incoming runs and celebrations from other chapters. All regitration can be done with him. A series of RUNS are in the HASH pipeline. Run till you broke.

JM, Fit Lo took the last on-box opportunity to call for sponsorship for our Hawaiian Nite. As the night was already late, many hashers have left the run site. Those who stayed were really "DIE HARD FANS". We managed to collect another RM4000 sponsporship. Till now, we had  about RM26K of sponsorship. The journey has just started. Long time to do the roadshow. We will approach EVERY MEMBERS for their sponsorship. So MEMBERS, get your purse ready!! 多多益善!!

It is very encouraging to organise our 9th anniversary celebration with this level of support at the begining. We have 5 months for the planning. I am quite confident that we can deliver a great Hawaiian Nite on 1 Oct-11. ON! ON!

Thank you every HASHERS forr your SUPPORT. ON! ON!

Run #441 - Jalan Kacau (Near Temple)

This should be the 3th time that SH4 run at this run site but it is my FIRST time to this run site. A farming land surrounded by hills in half circle. A temple located at the halfway of the high hill. The view was great and beautiful. A wide parking area where we should consider having our CIRCLE here one day.

The location is quite deep inside from the main road. (follow the Ostrich Farm signboard). About 5 KM distance. This is not easy to reach the run site for first timer. Many junctions along the road with very less signboards. Some hashers were late as very difficult to find the run site. One even told me that he had almost given-up as he had mad ea few wrong turns and almost lost. But, with the high hashing spirit, nothing is impossible.

We entered via left handside of the temple. Quite a steep slope on the 1st hill. Then we reached a place for the 4WD jeeps challenge. Very interesting to see how they drove their 4WD in such a badly damaged road/ mud here. We walked along the 4WD road. The most dangerous and exiting part was to cross a small river via a fallen log. Surprisingly, noone had dropped into the river. ON ON!

The journey seems very long to me. I had lost count on number of hills conquered. I ony recalled that we had crossed many streams/ rivers. As warned by them earlier that this is "LEECH Heaven" place, I had to run with extra-careful when crosing the streams. Luckily, no blood donation this time. As raining earlier and the trail is NEW and VIRGIN, it was quite slipperly. I fell a few times and made some cuts. As of the tireness and concentration on finding safe steps for moving forward, I had no feeling on all these pains.

The day seems turned into DARK very quick. We had to use our headlight quite early. As a few new hashers had no light, we shared the light for our journey. It had slowed us down. Besides,  this is my 1st time here, I had no idea where am I and not even able to sense we were getting far or closer to our run site. In the dark, I couldn't recognised our spot from the light or hill shape from far away. We continued our journey without any words. Full of concenration on the challenges like walking along the side of deep slope or moving down a steep slope with unknown depth. I had to slide down at certain spots as the trail had badly damaged by front runners. Not their fault as this is new trail.

We reached runsite at 8:10pm. Another >3 hours run with whole body covered by dirt and mud, from head to foot. No wonder less and lesser hashers want to be SWEEPER. This role is getting tougher and challenging. GM! please do consider for sweeper. Set a better trail especially at the end of the run. It is very dangerous and difficult when we had to climb down a steep slope in DARK.

Btw, it was a great trail. Take the run site as Center point, we had run along 270degree in CIRCLE. Just like if our entry point is WEST, our last spot out of jungle is at SOUTHEAST. Indeed, we had travelling very very long distance by viewing the top hills in front of you at run site.

It was great when reached the runsite with 100-plus and watermalon served by our friends. Great SH4 hashing spirit and friendship. When the cold fluid flowed into my mouth, all frustration and unhappiness had just gone and digested in my stomach.

Another great hours spent in SH4 hashing! ON ON!

Run #440 Broga

ON!ON!

ON!ON!
