Long and Terror Runs!

On Saturday (07.04.12), LauTan, FLZ and I joined Mountain Goat & Lady Goat’s hare for Mount Kiara Harsh. The run site was at Ah Pak Hill near Venice Hill. They really spent a lot of efforts for all hashers, for a very2 “long” short run and Long run is just like another mini-ball breaker. The split for long run and short run was after 1.5 hours. By the time we reached the run site, the day was already dark. We had run for 2hr++. I was so thirsty that I finished 2 cans of “REVISE”. A bowl of hot porridge has helped me to fill my stomach. And then, continue waiting for FLZ who was still in the SUPER LONG RUN. They were arrived the run site after 2.5hr++.

It was a very fun and frinedly CIRCLE.  All in “sarong” as this is the gifts from our HARES. It was a lot of fun to watch the hashers wearing the sarong in very creative ways. Some of us start wondering should I naked inside. (As of the hash rule, no under garment is allowed if wearing sarong, for men only.) If no under garment, how would it be like if you are on-iced? Just noticed that ALL those on-iced were not following the hash rule.

As of no working the next day, we were enjoying with the CIRCLE, drinks and chats. In the end of the CIRCLE, at about 11pm, we have nasi lemak for supper. It was a wonderful night spent with MKH4 and Thanks to Mountain Goat & Lady Goat for organizing such a nice and friendly event. ON ON!

After a super long run experienced on Saturday night, I thought of having a relax run at SH4 today. Unfortunately, it was “LAGI” terror.  It was a totally NEW trail. The journey passed by many land slide areas. The terrain was so challenging. To me, the set run team must have broken a few PARANG in order to clear the route for us. In must be very TOUGH, DIFFICULT and PAINFUL for them. Thanks you all HARES!!

As of the new running trail, many of us refused to let go this “Unknown Land”, even with very tired and souring legs. Along the journey, SKS & I were busy in taking the nice shots that we were left behind by the group.  We had to run fast and when reached the Last Running bastards; we were almost out of breath.

When we reached the peak, some of them had already awaiting us for the photo session. For all the sweat and pain, it is time to reward with PHOTOGRAPH. This is a proof of hardship and challenge that we were faced earlier. Checked the clock and it was already 7PM.  OMG! It seems that we need to use head light as GM wishes! As new to this site, we had no idea of where are we now? Luckily, FONG WAN had his GPS check and shared with us that we are 2 KM away (horizontally!). Not so bad.

We saw a TANGKI and we thought that we may just walk along the road. Unfortunately, we walked toward the terrain, bushes and jungle. Another similar journey of up down for us. We had passing some rivers with very soft ground and mud like swamp. A few times, GouBaoChoon had his shoe loosen and sucked deep in the “swamp”.  Every step was like a trap waiting. It felt like a mouth underneath waiting to “eat” your shoe. For the worst, the whole body of us…CHILLING!!

Not long, we could hear rain falling from the opposite mountains. Both SKS & I were quickly packed our cameras. I started to worry and feel regret to bring my new Lumix GX1 in the jungle. Just after a short while, rain reached us quick and heavy. The thickness of the tree leaves had reduced the rain pouring on us. I was getting worry with my camera now although with a few layers of protecting.

The day turned dark even faster during rain. We had our headlight set and walking in the dark and have no sense of direction on where are we now. We made a few very deep slopes. We had to help each other to slide down safety. When we were climbing up hill, some of us had to rent their hands for support and pulling one up hill.  I saw a good teamwork in SH4 again. ON ON!

Here came a spot that SKS couldn’t find the hash paper as of the heavy down pour of rain and darkness. FONG WAN found a deep slope in front. While checking for the direction, suddenly, he fell down and hit a tree and lied down on the ground. He was in shock and made some painful sound. I was so panicked that he might be in serious injury. I tried to find some trees to support me to go down to help him. For a sudden, I was slipped and was in the air then free fall down. It was so terror that I couldn’t imagine how deep it would be? I pray for my life. Then, I hit Fong Wan and fell down further. After the shocked, I managed to stand-up and checked for any injury. I couldn’t feel any pain. I must have safe by Fong Wan. He became my cushion that reduced my downward impact. I was so lucky that the camera was facing upward, if on downward, it must have crushed and broken. It was about 15-20 feet deep.

Checked the condition of Fong Wan, he was fine. We both managed to stand-up and warned others not to follow our trail. SiuPao managed to move down from left. Unfortunately, the land must be very soft that he also slide down and reached us.  At the same moment, ChaXiu was also fall down like us and I saw her hitting the same tree. Her stomach hit the tree very hard. She was in pain and tear. She told us that her leg was in pain. Luckily, we were not in any serious injury.  After some rest, we managed to guide other to climb down from a safer route. We continued with our TERROR Journey in a group.

Luckily, after climbing up the hill, we could see the run site from the peak. We were so happy and feel relief that we SHOUT very loud and long. We gather everyone in a group then only walked toward the run site together. We cheer each other’s and it was really a wonderful moment. On On!

We reached the run site at 8:10pm. Some of them told me that if we didn’t reach by 8:30pm, they would go in to rescue us. I like this kind of team work and support. Thanks you SH4! On ON!

When reached home, after shower, all pains from injury started emerged. I have some bruises on right hand and scratches on left leg. I felt both my legs were souring and pains the next day.

From these 2 runs, I had exceeded my quota for this month hash run. I will have business travelling again next week. By the time I come back, I do hope that I will have another good run bit not like these two. On ON!

RUN #489 0n 18 Mar 2012

For quite a long time I did not updating in this blog. Mainly due to busy personal schedule. Also, we mainly using FACEBOOK for our update. (Please add Sunday HASH into your FB for recent update)

As this blog still have some supporters, I will try to do the update more regularly. Do remember to support me and cheers me up!

I have NO HASH run for a  month. So, it was a tough run for me yesterday. It was a challenge for a climb. Anyway, I managed to complete the journey safely.

Sg Jelok actually is a VERY NICE run site. The difficulty level can be vary from easy to tough. A good run site that like by HARES or Set run group. However, we, especially SH4, have a BIGGER problem to run here as of the parking issue. Some hashers have asked me not to schedule this as SH4 run site. I don't agree. Anyway, I will still schedule for SH4 to run here at least quarterly.

As usual, a big crowd turned-up for SH4 run. As of the long parking line, we don't see ALL HASHERS at our mini circle. The cars have parked from tunnel to the entrance of fish fond. Good sign is that all hashers didn't block the drive way.

The 1st climb was the "climb of the day". Just walk along the highway till we hit the PEAK of the hill. Each time when you reached the peak, there is another peak in front of you.  From top, a good view on the SILK HIGHWAY, Kajang town & Sg Long Town. I have managed to took some pictures. I really enjoy the scenery. Just notice a new township was in construction.


An unfortunate even occurred as some front runners stung by bees. SAN GAI shown me that 3 stings on her leg, hand and head. I saw a big red dot on her head. For safety reason, we had to order those kids to return before reaching the peak.

We then continue the journey. Some where along the journey we followed KH3's run trail. The downward climb was very challenging. Some deep slopes that you can only slide down without support. Both Hash MENG & HOILONGWONG were so kind that they used 2 long sticks to support us while climbing down. It help a lot and also keep the run safe.

The end journey was smooth and easy. Something must had happened to GM, this is not his style. Anyway, we, sweepers, were very happy that we can return to run site before 7pm. The day still bright.

A good recovery run for me. ON ON!

星期天捷兔会九周年纪念@夏威夷之夜 （01。10。11）

花了几个月来筹备的星期天捷兔会九周年纪念@夏威夷之夜，终于顺利完成。恭喜SH4再次创造充满欢乐和满堂友情的庆祝会。ON！ ON！

当晚,只可惜身体不适而不能尽情欢乐。幸好，一班SH4壮男和SH4天使们都能自动自发的带动全场。整个场面充满活力，笑声，和欢乐。看到全场的男士们穿上亮白和青翠夏威夷衬衫，非常雄姿英发。众美女的浅蓝沙笼和天使们青翠的沙笼配搭，令人有如在夏威夷海滩欣赏美景。连带病的我都精神为之一振! 如此良辰美景，难得，难得！

当晚七时半,我们准时开席。好像只有HASH才能如此准时。虽然当时还有许多空位，还是大胆的开完62席。最后, 决定正确。桌无虚席。

由我俩位女儿的舞蹈做开场。大女儿加入韵律操的高难动作令众人为之一惊。临时加这表演非初时的程序。幸好没有现丑。

由我出场介绍SH4 和搞ICE Breaker时出了些状况。 脑子不听使命再加上舞池把人群拉远了，很难和大家沟通。在舞台上如不能拉近人群时,通常都会语无伦次。最后草草收场。

他们弄了一个卖菜摊位让GM致开幕词。MIC就藏在大黄瓜内。GM轻而易举的找到。他也顺利的在这别出心裁的菜摊后致开幕词。

FUNTONG也顺理的完成ONDOWN INVITED GM 和颁发SH4Service Award。GM们的花串是由FLZ尽心特别设计。很有夏威夷的味道。

接下来节目全权由路痴负责。他也大露身手,把场面炒的大热。我也趁此机会休息。几位好友见我背后酸痛为我Massage。减轻了痛处。很荣幸的在多处招待Hashers时也受到同样的护理。SH4 充满人情味!

由SH4天使们表演夏威夷舞, Tu Tuki。一班平时是"Auntie",今晚个个却花姿招展，非常亮丽。不愧SH4女将。欣瑜编舞的功力又更进一步了!

节目继续由路痴主持。一直到抽出2架32寸和42寸LCD TV时最高峰。看到河马冲上台一直跳和接受祝贺的拥抱。我也感染到她的欢乐!MantinHash的 Animal King以胜利者的姿势迎接这42寸LCD TV大礼物。看到幸运者的欢乐, 我们的大手笔在幸运奖是值得的。

进入Disco时光时,大家已进入了疯狂的夏威夷之夜。我也趁此时清理场地。剩下很多酒。花了很长的时间搬运到我家。幸好, 有路痴, 肥福们和NoHair到来帮助。

许多人只看到晚会的欢乐和成功。但是，他们是见不到晚会前的种种准备工作和善后的"可怕"工作量。往往散会后, 人影已不见几人了。此时, 身体已疲惫不堪了。每次这时侯我都告诉自己，这是最后一场了!

整体来说,星期天捷兔会九周年纪念@夏威夷之夜相当成功。全场爆满。节目丰富多彩又顺利进行。团队工作精神很好。满场的喜笑颜开。SH4的宴会又达到一个新的水平！ON！ ON！

Offroad Charity Ride/ Hash - Funding Event to Persatuan Kanak-kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat (PKKI)

A charity event organised by Bandar Mahkota Cheras's BIKE RIDING group. (All volunteers with  no political/ religious/ business purpose). They have invited  SH4 to join them to organize the HASH RUN for this charity event. SH4 will design and take part on the 5-8 KM running track. They will do the 20KM MTB riding around Bandar Sg. Long.

Charity Method: Drop your "KINDNESS in CASH" into a Donation box.

Simple Hashing Rules:
* Sign IN and sign OUT.
* Take nothing but lot's of photography. Leave nothing but your foot prints.
* Have your breakfast early.
* Bring your own clothing for change.
* Bring sufficient water  (at least ONE 600 ml mineral water)
* Follow SWEEPERS guidance & instruction. Check with them if facing issue.
* If not feeling well, please don't run or don't complete the run. Inform SWEEPERS!
* When on the road, be careful of the road traffic. SAFETY FIRST!
* RUN with happy, fun, relax, friendship & healthy condition.

Run #462 04/09/11 Venice Hill

After a long leave, I seems slept late, reading, watching TV for the whole week without any exercise. It is time for me to do some. Joining SH4 run is always the best choice on Sunday. ON! ON!

A group of hashers joint Temerloh H4 celebration yesterday. Many of them still able to rush back to support our run. Big hands to them! ON ON!

Quite a big group of first time guests (FTG) joint today. They are mainly GuoWong and 619 friends. As usual, we had a short introduction from them and we also briefed them some simple hash rules. It will be a happy run!

Run started sharp at 5pm. The journey was smooth and easy at the beginning. Most FTG had easily conquered the 1st hill. Many members joint sweepers to take care of them. SAFETY is #1 in SH4.

We saw Happy H5 hash papers at halfway in the jungle. Our track was crossing their track. Again, no confusion or problem occurred as of HIGH HASHING spirit. Unfortunately, I didn't meet their runners. However, I was able to hear them somewhere in the jungle.

After a few "warm-up" climbs, we reached the real run after "Ah Pa Hill". I gave some warnings to new runners. Those who were struggling was advised to return/ reverse back at this point. Some runners with high fighting spirit, we allowed them to complete the journey since we had a big group of sweepers today.

Midway of this challenging climb, a few runners started showing "difficulty". A pink lady was struggling to "thrown-out". I asked her to use her finger to help to vomit, but she was not dare as her finger was "dirty". Ha! Ha! FLZ will tell me the same. Luckily, she managed to complete the journey under such difficult condition.

Uncle 6 was diarrhea for a few days after their Jelutong trip. He was struggling during the run.  I heard someone asking Uncle 6 to rest just above me. I approached to check his condition. I saw him slanting on a tree at a slope. It was a bit dangerous as his back was not facing the hill. I moved quicker trying to support him. But, just in a flash, I saw him collapsed and sliding down. Luckily, a few branches had managed to stop his sliding. I managed to grab him and gave him the first aid immediately.

His condition didn't look good. He was unconscious after that fall. I was a bit panic as he seems very weak. He was struggled to open his eyes and his mouth was closed very tight. He may lost his breathe if he lost his conscious longer. I saw Chicken Little was very worry, but she was very calm. 

Uncle 6 had a strong fighting spirit. He tried very hard to open his eyes to keep himself awake. It helped me a lot to in the rescue. A few sweepers did helped to massage him and fanned for fresh air. All these actions helped in this rescue. When Uncle 6 thrown out his first air, I felt relieved. It took him quite a long time to wake-up. Then, someone shouted, "Another runner is fainted."

OMG! I quickly rush for another rescue and HaiLongWong stayed to take care of Uncle 6. It was DINO who was fainted while rest on a tree. He was lucky as a new runner managed to hold him from collapsing. I managed to support him to remain standing and supported by a tree. It was easier to rescue under this condition and also he was still conscious. After a few massages, he managed to thrown out the air. (I recalled LauTan told me, this air is normally very smelly. I managed to avoid facing him.) A few sweepers joint and provided some helps too. We were lucky this time as many of us were around to help them.

After the incident, I checked with them for lesson learnt. A hard press at area under the nose and above the lips (人中) is a KEY to wake them up. Both Uncle 6 and Dino shared the same. 

DINO also shared that he was fainted after seeing uncle 6 collapsed. Without any symptom, he felt a shock than collapsed. I recalled similar experience at Sg. Long. While I was rescuing a young lady, her sister also collapsed after seeing her sister fainted. (Just a sharing: If you are not feeling well, try to avoid looking at a rescue.)

We took the time for both them to have rest, water and sweet. Not long, 619 approached and shared that the front runners just at somewhere near us. We decided to make a short-cut as both runners were weak. It was a right decision and we managed to reach the run site before dark. (Those who completed the run shared that it had another 3 hills to climb.)

At about 7.30pm, all returned safely. Congratulation to a few new runners who were managed to complete the run. ON ON!

I have a mix feeling on the successful rescue of our 2 friends. In the deep of my heart, we were very lucky so far. I am very worry that what if I failed ONCE? I was not dare to think any deeper.......

I do really hope that all runners to stop running or reverse if he/ she is not feeling well. Try next time as we run every Sunday. Please STOP AND REST if you need REST. Run with a group if you are not feeling well. Please run SAFELY! ON! ON!

Whatever is it, with these lesson learnt, let's continue our HASHING. See you on next run. ON! ON!
