#446 Sg Long

ON! ON!

Although it was rain in the afternoon, we had ~80 runners (excluding set run team) participated for this run at Sg. Long.  The cars had occupied both sides of the main road of the residence area. Anyway, we had not causing any traffic issue here. This is the basic hash's rule that all hashers must follow.

We had 13 cars joined GM to set run. Quite a big crowd. I think this will be easy to loacte the "on check" as too many of them. It will be a lot of footprints left to trail the check.

4 first timer joined and questioned by JM FitLo. After some short briefing, we ON! ON! sharp at 5pm. As it was just rain, the trail was wet and muddy. Immedite challenge was a VERY DEEP valley to climb down before entering to the jungle. Those usual "U-TURN" team had started worry started negotiate on how to climb back later. But, they did continue the journey as the day was still early.

Happy faces as journey just begins!

There were 5 hills to climb for this run. As usual GM style, most of them were new trails. Some difficult slopes to climb down. As usual, the trail was badly damaged by the front runners. This has caused last runners and sweepers  facing trouble to find proper trail to climb up or down. For a new lady runner, we had to rotate to give her a hand to pull her up hill. Red Dragon came with his junior. He patiently guided his son throughout the journey. With his professional skills, I believe his son had learnt a lot from him.

Step by step following queue down!
The great moment was when we had reached the peak of last hill. From this height, we can see the undeveloped jungle inside Sg. Long. We took the opportunity to take group photos.

The last hill was the HIGHEST clim for the day. We had motivated each others, help each others, guide the newer and support the team moving forward.  When we were walking along the tar road for the returning to the run site, we were enjoying the
First Challenge!
success that we had achieved especially for our 2 new joiners. They were almost given-up. When they were exhausted, they always like to ask us, "How far to go?". The answer is always "After this hill!"

I was proud with both of them. Although they were very tired and dirty, they had the fighting spirit to face the challenges. Step by step...take a few more rest...then fight again. With this right attitude, they were success in the end.

When we reached the tar road it was already 7.15pm. It seems that we will reach run site at dark. Then not long, we saw 2 vehicles approached. San Sin Cheong and FatLot came in to fetch us as the journey back to run sitte is very far..~3Km walking journey. Thanks to them, we reached run site at 7.30pm and the day just turned dark.

SUCCESS!! CHEERS!!
